I want to journal...

I love the idea of journaling every day. I’ve done it before and found it to be very enlightening and powerful for me.

Do I still do it every day? Not so much.

Mostly it’s because I don’t get much un-interrupted time during the day and partly it’s because when I get in front of the blank page I don’t know where to begin. I know. I could ask for the time I want. I could ask husband to leave me be for an hour each day. I know. I could get up an hour early while he’s still sleeping and do it then. But, truth be told, I just don’t do those things and I know I really should.

I really should carve out time in each day that is just for me. I’ve done it before and I loved it! I loved the result!

Well, here is my little idea: I keep thinking that if I had a prompt when I sat down to write I might want to get to the page each day and make it a priority in my life. I honestly do want to make it a priority in my life. So, what if I posted daily (or so) prompts on my blog. That way others could share the journaling too. They could use the prompt for their own journaling, blogging or simply use it as something to keep top of mind for the day.

While my blog was initially meant to be an art blog, I find that sometimes I’m not creating and frankly, don’t really feel like telling the world that I’m not! Also, I start to feel guilty when I go to my blog and see that my last post was nearly a month ago. I want to post more to the blog too.

So, here is what I want to do. I want to post a daily (or so) journaling prompt on the blog. I will then use that prompt to journal myself, on my own. But I would love to hear if you are using the prompt too – in any way that works for you!

So, let’s begin…

Today’s Journaling Prompt: List 3 things you are grateful for. Now explain why.

Jason, as himself said...

I kept a journal very diligently from the age of 14 until 23. I wrote every single day.

Not anymore. But I do blog! That sort of counts.
