The Saucy Chicken

Hello! It's been a while!

Today I'm reviewing a new little restaurant here in Downtown Minneapolis
"The Saucy Chicken". Cute name, huh?

OK, so my friend Kris and I decided to try this new little spot. They serve chicken strips, wings and pulled sandwiches (chicken, beef and pork). The draw is the sauce! They have 40 million to choose from!

When we walked in the place was a little dead but then again, it is a Tuesday. I chatted up the owner a little asking how business was and explaining this was our first time. She was delighted that we chose to come out on this rainy day to eat her food.

I ordered the seasoned wings with blue cheese sauce and ranch sauce. Kris ordered the chicken strips and onion petals. They have great sides one of which is, get this, TATOR TOTS!

I know, right?

The food was good! After we'd been eating for a bit the chef came out with soup samples for each of us! (see how it pays to chat up the owner upon arival?) How sweet was that? Everything is homemade, she explained, no cans or bags here! We each got a bowl of chicken noodle - old fashioned and tasted like home to me; and nacho chicken soup with tortilla curls - spicy but nice just the same.

So - today's lunch was a good experience! I like to let people know when they do good things and this little place is a 'good thing'.
