Another air plane took me to California! This time it wasn't a business trip that called me to the sunny state, but my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary.
The in-laws live in Imperial Beach, CA. It is the southern-most city on the West Coast of the U.S. It is about 15 minutes from the border of Mexico. This is where my husband lived when we met 6 years ago. (Yep! I proudly say to anyone who asks, It was for me! After all, who would move from the beautiful San Diego area to live in Minnesota??)
Mom In-Law grew up in Hawaii. She is of Japanese descent and she married a GI from the smelly state of Wisconsin. (hee hee, sorry poppa) Mom In-Law has strong Hawaiian ties so they had lovely Hawaiian dancers at the party, as well as some traditional Hawaiian foods such as Kahlua Pig, Mahi Mahi and a chicken dish I honestly couldn't identify... but was good!
We talked, danced, ate and laughed our way through the evening... and in great Catholic tradition, got up early for mass the next day.
I worked a lot, but hey... it was a beautiful party!
Jeff was unable to attend because our company is conducting a HUGE move to a new building and he was under a moratorium of vacation days. I missed him greatly... more than I can say.

I'll give you a dollar if you can name the state fish of Hawaii.
That would be the Hawiian Tiger Fish.
I was about to be mad because I thought you went to Hawaii. I mean, not mad, happy for you.
Looks like a fun time!
Awesome.....are you are hurrying back to MN why???????
Happy Wednesday!
